About Us

SANGUINE is a pioneering project dedicated to advancing early detection of hematological malignancies through the development of a state-of-the-art blood test. Our consortium is composed of leading experts and institutions in hematology, oncology, genomics, and diagnostics. With a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to revolutionize cancer research by integrating cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary teams to create innovative solutions that have a real impact on society. SANGUINE recognizes the importance of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in this process, ensuring the inclusion of human interaction and ethical considerations to enhance medical decision-making, address the needs of medical professionals and patients, and achieve effective implementation.

Our Approach

SANGUINE adopts a multidisciplinary framework, merging STEM with SSH principles. We prioritize five social principles—beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, justice, and explainability—intertwining sociology, psychology, ethics, and other SSH disciplines for data analysis. By addressing bias, under-representation, and ethical aspects, our blood test becomes inclusive and reliable. Legal, Policy, Economics, and Public Administration branches shape regulatory frameworks and facilitate implementation. Effective communication and stakeholder involvement ensure result dissemination and engagement, fostering collaboration with patients, caregivers, health professionals, and relevant associations throughout the process
